I had an excellent buying experience today at friend and friend today. A huge shout out to Kyle, Norm, TJ, Tasha and Steve. I spoke with Tj through e-mail and told him what I was looking for and what I needed the tractor for and he told me what models would be best suit me. I showed up and Kyle and Norm were super friendly and happy to show me the two models I was curious about and had excellent product knowledge! Tasha got me set up with financing way faster than I expected! And finally, Steve from service showed me everything I needed to know on how to upkeep my new tractor and answered all my service questions. This team is awesome! Thanks again guys! I will be back!

Good day! I would like to start by saying my motorcycle has been out of commission for 2 1/2 months cause of back order part. The Dealer I normally go too told me the part was going to be 5 to 8 days, go for it, please order. After waiting a week I call for status up date and was told it's back ordered for another 5-7 days.(REALLY)!!! So I waited following week same answer, 2 months goes by and this was the best fall riding season ever. I contacted Troy and Daniel in your parts department and said they could order and have with in 5-7 days...thinking the same story.
I called after 5 days and they did a tracking search on it and gave me a date. The part arrived and low and behold I receive a text Your Part Is In.
I had to drive 5hr to your shop to pick it up and would do it again. Thanks to all the crew at Friend & Friend they truly are!Raymond Cormier, Notre-Dame, NEW BRUNSW -

On the return leg of a two week Canadian East Coast tour with my wife and noticed a problem with the front brakes on my Concourse. In Bangor on a Saturday afternoon, Called F&F, they confirmed that they had pads for me. I arrived late in the afternoon and told them that I needed the new pads mounted today because Im riding through the mountains tomorrow. Have to be back in Ontario for Monday.
The Service manager provided a spot in the shop, the necessary tools and even helped me with the work. (He did offer his own mechanic to do the work if I wanted)
In todays world where most shops are just a business and wont go out of their way to help a fellow rider, it nice to come across a shop with good hearted enthusiasts.I wish I had a shop like this back home. They all dried up 30 years ago in Greater Toronto Area.Gery DiMonte, Newmarket, ONTARIO CA -

On our way from Oregon to Newfoundland we stopped in to take care of an oil change at Friend and Friend. Their schedule was full up for the day but they were very helpful in loaning me a drain pan and a spot in their lot do do my own service. They had the oil and filter that we needed for our FJR and recycled the dirty oil for us. What an awesome shop. Thanks guys. Also shared info on the Cabot Trail ride. Cheers. 2 thumbs up!

Bought 2013 V-star last October, great sales staff, no pressure but extremely helpful when needed. Didn't get much chance to ride in fall and first chance to ride this year I had a loud noise in belt area. Called and made appointment, they found problem fast and fixed it with a little grease and am back on road again. They could have told me anything and I would have believed them but they were honest and made me a very happy customer. Everyone there has been very friendly and recommend them to everyone I know. Great people to do business with.

I heard of Friend and Friend many years ago as a boy in Holden who's Father new Peter from the Shrine, I think. Not even a teen at the time and riding an old Rup Goat, my dad felt bad that some of the kid in town had much better. We had very little money and Dad called Peter to see what he could do for us and the shop was in Newport. Peter told Dad to come right down . He hooked him up with a nice SL 70 Honda, used for 300.00. He said take it and pay me.when you can. A month or so later it was paid for. I was having the time of my life and will never forget Peter's generosity. Flash forward to my daughter when she was ready and Michelle and I went into Ellsworth and bought her a new Honda 50 dirt bike. Much to my surprise my wife had just recently set up a different with The Ellsworth branch on a 2016 hold over Yamaha Kodiak 700. The base model, just the way I like things. What a well built machine and a privilege to own. My Dad and Peter are gone know but I bet they feel my enthusiasm from here all the way to heaven. Sincere thanks, Craig Pinkham

Very friendly staff, very helpful and a great experience buying a bike for my wife. I bought one other bike from friend & friend back in the early ninety's and I would buy again from them. Really happy with the whole experience!

Went in for one machine left with a different one. Josh in sales new by the look on my face that I wasn't satisfied with my first choice and immediately came up with another machine before I walked out. And I went in to the store with 2 young boys (3 and 6) that the entire staff helped entertain while I was busy making a deal. Keep up the good work that's how you get repeat customers.

Friendliest, nicest, most motivated customer focused team we have ever dealt with. As business owners ourselves, we know how customer demands can be stressful and employees can react in so many different ways; my husband is one of those difficult customers because he knows what he wants, but every single one of your employees went above and beyond to make him happy and for that, I thank you! We've been riding everyday since we bought it! Love, love, love it!!!

Last fall I was looking for a used snowmobile to see if I wanted to get into the sport. My sister and brother-in-law had purchased a sled earlier in the summer. There was what appeared to be a pristine older Arctic Cat on the Friend and Friend website listed as in Ellsworth. I submitted an online query asking about trading in an older motorcycle I had and Alex contacted me the next day to see if I wanted to come look at the sled.My brother-in-law and I headed to Ellsworth, checked out the sled (it was in like-new condition), and struck a deal. A week later, I took my bike down and traded it towards the sled. I was introduced to the parts department to talk about any accessories I may need and received a discount on items I purchased. I was then introduced to the service department and they went over some of the things about the sled and snowmobiling in general. I was then at the finance department to sign the paperwork (I did not finance the sled). In the meantime, we were offered soda and popcorn and other snacks and the entire staff were very friendly and congratulated me on my new-to-me sled. It was a very positive experience. We had a blast riding snowmobiles this winter and I plan to keep my Pantera for a few more years as it seems to do everything I need.

We recently bought two four wheelers from Friend & Friend and we couldn't be happier. Our sales person, Cory, was very knowledgeable and Ben was great in the business office. We would not hesitate to do business again here. Thanks for the great deal and for making it easy!!

I went to oter dealerships and they were not as helpfull as the guys at friend and friend....I could tell that they had a passion for riding and wanting their customers to be on the bike that fit them and made sure that they loved the bike....thank you for the great deal and I am sure I will be back again....

When I saw a suspiciously low price listed for a Honda PCX 150 on Craig's list, I decided to check it out. The dealership listed was Friend and Friend in Ellsworth. I sent them an email questioning the price and condition of the scooter at 10:00 p.m., and Alex responded by phone and left a message before 10:00 a.m the following morning. In his message he answered my questions and invited me to call and talk with him. When I called, he sounded genuinely excited to hear that I wanted to trade my Vespa LX50, and he told me that he would be happy to stay late on Friday, if that is what it would take for me to get to Friend and Friend with my Vespa. It took a week and several phone calls and emails, but I finally got there at 4:10 on a Saturday, and the entire staff appeared happy to see me. There was no pressure or rushing, just assistance and great service. Long story short - I agreed to purchase the Honda PCX 150, I traded my Vespa LX 50 and got the trade-in price I requested, and then I got the Ticket To Ride. At 5:15 after they closed at 5:00, Alex dropped me off in the Accessories department for an introduction and walk through, then the employee in that department took me to the service department, and from there I was brought to the finance department to sign papers and pay. This was the easiest purchase I have ever made in my entire life. I am a 50-year-old woman, and I just discovered this year how much I love riding. In the second half of my life, I am looking forward to more enjoyable and affordable buying experiences at Friend and Friend as well as more exciting riding experiences.

While on an extended Motorcycle trip throughout the United States, my wifes' 2012 GOLDWING needed new tires. I called FRIEND & FRIEND in Ellsworth and explained my situation and the Service Manager and Parts Manager worked together to get the proper tires for her bike in and was able to get her tires installed right away. While we were at the Dealership waiting for the installation , we were treated like family and insured we were comfortable. The charges for the service and parts were in-line with what we pay back in Texas and the work was expertly done. The mechanic even came out and talked to my wife about what he did. Your Dealership is an excellent example of OLD SCHOOL service, and I will tell all I meet who are planing to visit the area about your facility and strongly encourage them to stop by and get to know the wonderful people who work there and look around your fully stocked store ! Thanks again to all ...

My third motorcycle purchase from Friend and Friend in Ellsworth. As usual, a fantastic customer experience. Alex, my sales person took fantastic care of me. As a car salesman, I really appreciate the process. Ben in the business office had me in and out quickly. Had a minor running issue with the bike the service took care of right away. As long as I can ride, I will always buy, service, and get my accessories from Friend and Friend!

Since the choices on this survey do not allow me choices I want to share with you, I will use this commentary box.
I bought a generator from your Ellsworth store, two in fact.
For lack of power during recent outages, the time seemed right to bite the bullet and buy a generator.
Criteria for me was portability so we could share this resource with neighbors to power freezers and refrigerators. Also, an elderly neighbor has no source of heat without power - so another criteria was to provide power for a small heater to keep her small house habitable.
Friends suggested looking on the Internet for a "good deal" but having never owned a generator and wanting to "buy local" we sought the knowledge of your staff.
Without fail, each employee was polite and considerate: very helpful in hauling what was purchased to our truck.
My husband tells me he does not think I should be writing to you because it might cost someone his job. That is definitely NOT my purpose. I've owned a small business and respect anyone earning a living by their own merits.
This is what took place in the past couple of weeks:
We bought a small Honda generator (1,000W) that met some of our needs (portability and light weight). Leaving Friend & Friend with the understanding that the Honda would accomplish everything we mentioned to staff, we were excited to be able to help my sister re-charge her freezer after having been without for 6 days. Luckily, our power had been restored.
The Honda was ineffective. After a hard weekend weatherwise, the Honda was taken to the service department to see what we were doing wrong. The technician was wonderful, thoroughly testing it and commenting that it was not powerful enough to accomplish what we wanted and that there was also something "not right" with it.
Long story short, we purchased a more powerful portable generator (though not as cute and light weight as the first)and were issued a full credit for which we are thankful.
It was during this second purchase that a salesman presented us with a Honda chart listing generator power and power required by various appliances. That chart gave us a quick clear picture of the reality in generator purchase.
Perhaps we misunderstood information imparted by salesmen (they certainly work as a team)but my point is this: we were looking for guidance and the first time around we were given a quick, inappropriate sale.
Whatever disappointment (anger, too) we felt has dissipated and we now feel better equipped for what comes next in this harsh winter.
A humble tip for sales to generator newbies like us: share the Honda chart at the outset - a kind of informed consent.
We'll be back as customers sometime - we liked your staff too much not to.

Recently I had my 2004 Hayabusa that I purchased 3 years ago from the guys in Orono, in for service. All you guys at the shop in Orono know who you are and what you did for me and my Busa. Sandy and all the guys in service were top notch and performed at their best as usual. John was fabulous and helped me out with my transportation needs while my bike was in the shop. The parts guys were first class in finding the parts I needed in a flash. All the employees were awsome and put up with me for a bit in the showroom!Cooper, you should be proud of your team, they are true professionals.

Had a very enjoyable time dealing with the Orono store crew during my recent purchase. They treated my children who were stuck hanging with dad doing something that although interesting was not the most exciting with the utmost respect and did a great job of entertaining them throughout the process. The whole crew kept the purchasing experience positive and worked well with me to meet my time constraint and purchase needs.

April 16, 2013 Dear Jason, I just wanted you to know that when I went into Friend and Friends, I never realized that when I left there, I felt like I left my family. Your Customer Service skills are superb. I left there a very informed and satisfied customer and would highly recommend your establishment to everyone. You all went above and beyond and it did not matter that I purchased a used A.T.V I still got the royal treatment. You all made me feel like a Queen. It was a true pleasure doing business with you all and thank you again for the excellent service I was given. The cook out was an added bonus and great for marketing but it was all of you that made this sale so special.Next time you need to get more cheese for the hamburgers, and add some pickles on the site too. That young lady did a fabulous job cooking.Keep up the great work! Thank you all so much! Sincerely,
Linda M. Labate

over all i love the store and the people that work there are great. if you cant find what your looking for atv, dirtbike, street bike ect go to the store and they probably have it or can get it. only problems i have is the prices on the website. some of the pre owned bikes atvs ect dont show what they are asking for it.also the trade in link should give you a rough est. on what you might get or around what you might get for your trade in. other then a few little things with the website the store is amazing and they always make sure you leave the store happy and a few pennies left in your pocket. good job friend and friend and keep up the good work.

My wife and I purchased a Polaris Ranger in 2009 from Friend and Friend. We were very satisfied with the entire transaction. Purchased a Suzuki C90T in August of 2011. About the same time I was diagnosed with a rare blood and bone marrow disease. It was no longer feasible to continue riding a motorcycle after 100,000 miles and 37 states. The fine folks at Friend and Friend made it a smooth transition into a new snowmobile that my wife and I can enjoy together. Joe, Lou, and Alex were professional and respectful throughout our dealings. They even saved me a bundle on a used trailer for the new machine. We own a home in Steuben but live primarily in the Tampa Bay area. I own my own business there. I only hope that my employees treat my customers as my wife and I were treated by the associates at Friend and Friend. We will be back the week after Christmas... will you'all pray for snow for us? I have been going to Friend & Friend in Orono since the beginning of spring(2012). I bought a couple of bikes('99 Honda Ace Deluxe CD2 / '04 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500) and had them both serviced this spring. On the Nomad, I replaced tires, brakes, new grips, had a light fixed and brake light worked on because it wasn't working. I have purchased parts, apparel and accessories and plan on buying more before the summer is over. I really enjoy talking with the people there and often stop in just to look around or chat. I really enjoyed the pig roast this summer and want to thank everyone there for having it. I would also like to thank the guys who had the Dyno machine there as well. They were very knowledgeable and courteous. I plan on doing business with them for as long as I own my bikes. I would recommend Friend & Friend to anyone.

To Whom it may concern:Just a note to say; Thank-You, for making the purchase of our Polaris/Ranger 500 a pleasant experience. The staff went above and beyond to get the ATV here safe and set up. Although, a rainy day, brought sunshine our way. Friend & Friend was prompt and our requests were made in a timely manner. Special thanks to the staff, and for the excellent workmanship. We appreciate the follow-up done after the purchase, to make sure everything was as ordered.Mike and I are real pleased with our new ATV and the whole process of purchasing it. It's exactly as we ordered. Our family pet, German Shepherd (Faith) loves to ride! LOL We appreciate everyone welcoming her as part of the family. Hat's off to "ALL STAFF" for their professionalism and hard work. You Guys ROCK! In the future, we would highly recommend Friend & Friend (Ellsworth Maine).
Again...thank-you, kindly, for everything. Have a Great day! God Bless you and yours, Sincerely, Michael & Lori Carr :)Lori Carr, Robbinston, ME -
Best customer service experience ever! My wife and I couldn't have asked for better service. The staff knows their products and are extremely helpful. We expected to spend the day going from shop to shop and trying to decide what was right for us, while trying to disregard all the sales pitches. When we arrived at the Orono store, we found a couple of bikes that we were interested in and were able to get fast accurate answers on them. We then headed to the Ellsworth store, to look at a few additional bikes we saw on the website. When we arrived there and began talking to the staff, we quickly realized that they were equally well-versed in their product lines. After nearly an hour of conversation, we knew what we wanted, and they didn't have it. The staff there actually said, " I would love to sell you something in our showroom, but I don't have the right bike for you here". Can you believe it????? However, the bike that was right for us was in Orono and I had already considered it as one of the bikes I would revisit. We made our way back to Orono, and continued the discussions with the staff there. Let me put it this way, it only took one test ride on that bike and I knew it was the right one for us. Everything else from there was easy. What could have been a painful and arduous task, was made simple by a few people excelling in their fields and one employee who would rather see us on the right bike, than make a commission on a sale. The staff is outstanding and our new bike is more than I ever hoped for! Thank you again, for the outstanding service!Mac D. McKnightSuzuki SV650S

Every time I come into the Orono location I am greeted promptly, by name. The service I receive at every visit whether to make a purchase or just to drool for hours on end is what keeps me and my family coming back year after year even when you dont have the lowest price sometimes. the service and how we are treated there makes parting with a few extra dollars a minuscule thing. thanks for your continued dedication to customer service. you'll see me again very soon.

I recently bought a motorcycle at Friend & Friend in Ellsworth, Maine. Starting with Tim F. in sales, everyone at the dealership was great. Because of an odd requirement by the town assessor regarding the MSRP (tax purposes), Tim even offered to have the assessor call him. Thanks everyone. Best wishes.
